NeuroQuant® is an advanced post-processing software that analyzes brain MRI images to measure and track the size of important brain regions. It helps doctor detect changes that may be linked to neurological conditions like Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or brain injuries.
After your brain MRI is completed, NeuroQuant® software analyzes the images to measure the volume in areas of your brain, including the hippocampus, ventricles, and amygdala. It then compares your brain’s structure to a real-time database of healthy individuals your age and sex, helping doctors identify subtle changes that may not be visible with a brain MRI alone.
No, it is simply an added analysis of the MRI images you already have.
The brain MRI usually takes 15 – 60 minutes. The NeuroQuant® analysis happens after your appointment is complete and does not affect how long you’re in the scanner.
No, the MRI is non-invasive and painless. In some cases, your brain MRI may be ordered with contrast, a dye material injected intravenously prior to your scan to enhance the clarity of your results.
One of our board-certified radiologists will review your MRI images and develop a report alongside the NeuroQuant® quantitative analysis. The reports will be shared with your doctor who will then explain the results to you and discuss any next steps.
Your doctor may recommend NeuroQuant® if you’re experiencing memory issues, cognitive changes, or other symptoms that could point to a neurological condition. It’s often used when there’s a concern about:
• Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia
• Multiple sclerosis
• Traumatic brain injury
• Seizures or epilepsy
• Long term effects of chronic conditions
Insurance coverage for NeuroQuant® varies depending on your provider. Certain providers may cite standard brain MRI results offer enough details to make a clinically decision on a diagnosis or treatment. It is important to check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage.
