The scan itself typically takes 10 – 15 minutes, though you may spend a little more time at our centers if preparation is needed.

Will I need to drink contrast dye?

Depending on the reason for your scan, you may need to drink a contrast solution or receive an IV injection to enhance image clarity. Your referring doctor will let you know in advance by outlining it on the referral.

Is a CT scan painful?

No, a CT scan is a painless, non-invasive study. You’ll lie comfortably on a table while the scanner takes images.

Do I need a referral for a CT scan?
